Google is the biggest search engine, as over 85% of people use it regularly. This shows the trust level of visitors in the information Google provides when someone searches. However, Google wasn’t always the ultimate king. There was a time when Google was behind Yahoo and MSN in the race for the most popular search engines in the world. Google took over Yahoo and MSN and currently has an 85% market share.

Just as OpenAI launched ChatGPT in November 2022, a lot of people thought that AI was going to end the reign of Google. It is because Google has been putting so much emphasis on content’s quality and originality. These are the two main attributes AI content tends to lack.

Am I making a very big claim here? Is it really the case that generative AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude are not capable of providing quality and unique content? I am a content writer turned SEO specialist and observe the way in which AI content is generated.

Previously, we used to have tools like article spinners who’d spin our content and make it plagiarism-free. Then we got paraphrasing tools for rephrasing and rewriting.
